I have been receiving letters from Nipsco on Home Energy usage and I am number 5 this month!!! I use 27% less energy than my efficient neighbors!! This is out of 100 neighbors. I received a letters like this from Nipsco maybe every other month. I am happy to say we are always in the top ten. On an average my bills runs around $100 a month.

The house is very energy efficient.No drafts in this house. My husband loves the insulation on the roof in the attic and not on the floor-keeping the cold out of house and the attic cooler in the summer than my neighbor.

"Dear Energy wise guys
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you. We wanted to find away to make our 1941 Cape Cod house more efficient. We had already added vinyl replacement windows the year before. The window helped with the window area but our house was still drafty. We also added CFL’s which also helped a little on our electric bill. The big saving came with energy saving foam spray.

We contracted with Energy WiseGuys back in November to spray foam our house. I did not realize how big a difference it would make. Jeff the lead man on the job was terrific. He took the time to explain how they would work. They show up every day on time, used protective covers so our floors did not get damaged and left our house clean at the end of each day.

The process took 6 days and Jeff made sure they filled every wall cavity with the foam. When the work was done you could not tell they did anything to house. The difference was noticeable immediately. The draftiness was gone. We were able to lower our thermostat setting by 2 degrees and felt more comfortable. In fact we never in the 5 years we have been in the house, felt this comfortable.

I start tracking my utility bill right away. It is hard because this winter has been colder and than last year, but I figure we are saving well over 30%. I am trying to set up a graph to show the saving.. The big story for us has been the dramatic improvement in comfort. Thanks again for coming out and showing us what energy saving spray foam could do for our house. Please tell Jeff and his crew thanks also."

"We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how very pleased we are with our investment in your home insulation product and process.

Our house is about 21 years old and we purchased it new. It is a 2 story 4 bedroom home, at about 3300 sq/ft. At the time it was considered well built with 2x6” wall studs and standard batting type insulation and the exterior vinyl siding and Anderson windows and sliding glass doors.

Over time we realized that the home was just not energy efficient. We even had recently received a letter from NIPSCO comparing our energy usage to 40 other neighboring NIPSCO customers and we were the highest. We added a second heat & A/C unit to handle the upper level. While it helped with the comfort and temperature, it was not helping with our costs. We evaluated new siding but there was nothing wrong with the existing siding and the costs for this service and product were very high and we were not sure this would help.

Then we came across your firm and had you come out and access the situation and provide us a proposal. When we rec’d your quote we were very surprised and pleased at the reasonable fee for the work quoted and we decided to proceed.

We signed the proposal and scheduled the work for the following week. Your staff arrived on time and as promised and were professional and courteous. They were very thorough and pointed out some minor repairs to areas under the siding they encountered as they made the preparations to spray in the insulation. (These were handled as a separate project at a reasonable price also) Your staff spent 2 ½ days on the project and each day made sure we were aware of the progress and process. They were diligent in their work taking care as our siding is no longer available and they cleaned up the job site each day.

The results were immediate and positive. We could actually “hear” the difference. With the new insulation installed, we could not hear the normal street sounds and almost missed the garbage man! Though it is early we can see the difference now in our home’s ability to maintain a comfortable and consistent temperature whether using the heat or A/C. Either unit runs far less and this means significant energy savings. Even without the A/C or heat on, our home is able to stay at a very comfortable level not losing or gaining much temperature. Now with summer coming, though we’ve had few hot days, on those we’ve had, we are no longer experiencing the 10+ degree inside temperature gain we would experience before with no systems on. We will continue monitor the costs over the next 12 months for comparison, but we confident the investment in your product and services will pay back in a very short time and for years to come.

In the end, you’ve dramatically improved our home and we appreciate your help.We would highly recommend your products and services to anyone seeking to improve their home."
